Patrol Meeting Schedule

We are expecting patrols who do not have everyone at 1st Class or above to meet on the following dates: 

Jan 22nd, Feb 5th, Mar 5th, March 19th, April 2nd, April 16th, April 30th, May 14th, May 28th, June 11th.  

 

Patrols where everyone is 1st Class or above will need to meet on the following dates:

  Jan 22nd, Feb 5th, Mar 19th, April 16th, May 14th, June 11th.

FEBRUARY
February 5 - Troop Meeting

7:00 at FPCK. Program Patrol is The Patrol. Service Patrol is the Cobras.


Merit Badges are Archery, Shotgun and Rifle. Anyone wishing to work on the merit badge should get a blue card from our Advancment Chairperson - Mr. Standley.


7:15 - Adult Roundtable upstairs in the student center wing. Topic of meeting will be centered around how to help/encourage your scout be a good leader, Patrol/Troop members and a brief update on upcoming events. All parents are encouraged to attend.

 
February 6 - Committee Meeting

7:00 PM at FPCK. Agenda will be e-mailed prior to the meeting. A representative from the Squirrel/Cobras patrol to preview the March program.


 
February 10 - CERT Rodeo

Come out and help the CERT trainees qualify for their certifications as they do their testing.  Our scouts will help in multiple ways as assistants, victims, clean-up, etc.  Held at the Sheriff's Department training center on Atascocita Road.

This activity counts as one of the needed requirements on Emergency Prep merit badge.

 
February 11 - Scout Sunday
Assembly time to be determined. Scouts and Adults assist (ushers, readers, etc.) with church service. Support your chartered organization. See sign-up sheet at Troop Meeting entrance table. 
February 12 - Court of Honor

7:00 PM at FPCK in the Sanctuary. Program patrol is The Patrol. Scout recognition for achieving rank advancements, completing merit badges, and earning special awards.

We will also be conducting our annual Food Drive and ask that all Scouts bring 2 cans of non-perishable items to the Court of Honor.

 
February 16-18 - Shooting Campout

East Texas Rifle and Pistol Club in Longview, TX. 6:00 PM Friday check-in at FPCK, DEPARTURE AT 6:30 PM. 2:00-3:00 PM Sunday approximate return at Luby's Cafeteria parking lot (across from Harley-Davidson of Kingwood).

Archery, tomahawk, rifle, and shotgun shooting. All shooting sports equipment will be provided by the troop. Must be First Class rank to fire shotguns. Must be Tenderfoot rank to fire rifles.

Look for the sign-up sheet and permission slip at the troop meeting entrance tables. Click on read more for permission slip.

February 19 - PLC Meeting
7:00 PM at FPCK. All Scouts in a Leadership Position need to attend. 
February 22 - Robert Baden-Powell's Birthday
Celebrate the birthday of the Founder of Boy Scouts by living the Scout Law and Oath! 
February 26 - Troop Meeting - Scout Investiture

7:00 at FPCK. Program Patrol is The Patrol.

Scout Investiture is when all the new scouts will be assigned to their permenant patrols, choose a name, a yell and then be brought officially into the troop.

March 3 - Bark Mulch Delivery
This is the BIG ONE! Staging area will be at the Kingwood Park and Ride. Please arrive no later than 7 AM. Trailer haulers should arrive 15-30 minutes earlier for obtaining first load. This is an all day event. Help is needed from parents, siblings, and friends. Scouts must fully participate in both Bark Mulch Sales and Delivery to receive full incentives. Scoutmaster approval needed for excused absences.

ONLY IF ORIGINAL DELIVERY ON 3/4 IS CANCELLED.

SUMMER CAMP PACKETS - Hood Scout Reservation packets will be distributed at this meeting.  We only have a 1 week window to get them back.

March 10-13 Shiloh National Military Park - TN

Travel back in time as the troop visits the famed Civil War battlefield in Tennessee.  The battle was fought April 6-7, 1862 and was one of the major conflicts of the war.  You will enjoy the education you receive on this outing.

March 17 - Bark Mulch Spreading
Support your chartered organization. Volunteer to spread bark mulch on the church grounds. Start time will be at 9 AM and last for about 2-3 hours. See sign-up sheet at Troop Meeting entrance table. 
March 19 - Troop Meeting (New Scout Investiture)

7:00 PM at FPCK.  New Scout Investiture.  Program patrol is Squirrel/Cobras.  New Scout Investiture.  All incoming Scouts will be divided into patrols and introduced to the Troop during the Investiture ceremony.  Troop Guides responsible for working with new Scouts in organizing into patrols and conducting ceremony. 


 
March 23-25 - Campout - Dinosaur Valley

Dinosaur Valley offers great hiking and backpacking areas while looking at some pretty cool fossils.  You can walk in real dinosaur tracks that were made millions of years ago in central Texas.  6:00 PM Friday check-in at FPCK, DEPARTURE AT 6:30 PM. 2:00-3:00 PM Sunday approximate return at Luby's Cafeteria parking lot (across from Harley-Davidson of Kingwood).
